During the conference, participants discussed the role of the English language strategy in improving the quality of English language teaching and assessment in Georgia. Additionally, a constructive dialogue took place between British and Georgian professionals on teaching and evaluation methods that can be adapted to local needs while remaining compliant with international standards.

The conference was attended by Zaza Purtseladze, the Director of the British Council in Georgia and Head of the Eastern Partnership Department, high-ranking representatives of the British Embassy, teaching and evaluation specialists, teachers from ETI Holding English Center, English language teachers, education field representatives, and researchers.

In his speech at the conference, the Minister of Education of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Amilakhvari, emphasized the importance of strengthening the British-Georgian partnership to improve English language teaching in Georgia. He expressed his gratitude to the British Embassy and the British Council for their years of fruitful cooperation and the implementation of several joint educational projects, "In today's technological era, it is necessary to develop various essential skills in our children so they can adapt to the competitive environment. In this regard, strengthening knowledge of foreign languages, especially English, is crucial. Today's conference serves this purpose. We have already developed a strategy for improving English language learning in Georgia, for both schools and other levels of education. Furthermore, the Ministry, in collaboration with the British Council and the British Embassy, is actively working to raise the qualifications of English language teachers and to develop and implement educational resources. As a result, we will significantly enhance the quality of English language skills among our students, enabling them to be competitive on the global stage."

The conference, organized by the British Council in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, will contribute to deepening the British-Georgian dialogue in the field of English language teaching and assessment, sharing knowledge, and establishing professional connections.
